CBD Cosmetics it’s powerful: But Worth the High Hype in 2023?

read 4 min

CBD cosmetics have gained a lot of hype on the market, but after all, are they worth all that?

You may well have noticed that there are many more CBD products on the market now than a few years ago. Some countries have regulated the use of the substance recently. Plenty of people are swearing about the quality that they offer, but are CBD cosmetics really worth the hype?

CBD-Cosmetics

In this guide, we’re looking at some of the potential benefits and also what the specific science says about this skincare method. Is CBD the effective substance that everyone says?

The Proposed Benefits of CBD Cosmetics

What are some of the proposed benefits of skincare products that contain CBD oil? Nobody is pretending that this is a magic substance that can fix all problems, but it certainly has some benefits. Those positive consequences have been proven in both anecdotal evidence and in some early studies about CBD cosmetics.

To contextualize: CBD is a natural substance. It’s one of the types of cannabinoids that can play a big part in your skin routine as well as other aspects of your life.

May Help Inflammation, Eczema, and Psoriasis

CBD is a proven anti-inflammatory. One can use it by application or by taking it orally. A high amount of fatty acids in cannabis can also reduce skin issues. Such as itching, dry skin, eczema, and psoriasis. The cannabinoids have also been shown to help control the overproduction of skin cells that contributes to psoriasis.

Both anecdotal evidence and studies have shown that CBD can be an effective treatment for these skin conditions. According to a study, “use of CBD ointment (without any THC) is safe, effective, and can be used as a noninvasive alternative for improving inflammatory skin conditions like eczema.”

Potentially Plays a Role in Treating Acne

Many of the cannabis properties may also provide benefits in treating acne. It’s an important development, especially because it’s a condition that many struggles to find proper treatments for.

The fatty acids within can provide much-needed hydration to the skin. On top of that, the control of the production of lipids will help with clearer skin. People seeking to improve the appearance of their skin and who struggle with acne certainly have nothing to lose by trying this method. Acne treatments containing CBD cosmetics have better results if one applies them to the skin.

Diminishes the Visible Signs of Aging

It doesn’t matter whether you’ve been diagnosed with any form of skin condition or not, the vast majority of us would love to slow down the effects of aging and make our skin appear much younger.

One of the best ways to do this is by using a CBD cosmetics of skincare routine, and evidence is growing to suggest that it can help to stop visible signs of aging.

Several studies on CBD cosmetics and cannabis oils applied topically have shown that the antioxidant properties of CBD have had a significant impact on the skin, much more potent than other treatments like Vitamin C or E. This helps to make it an effective wrinkle[prevention method. The earlier you start using it, the better.

CBD also has the potential to neutralize free radicals on your skin and even protect the collagen that your skin produces, which can lead to a much clearer-looking face with fewer wrinkles and a much younger appearance. One can combine cannabis oils with some other treatments, too.

Possibly Decrease Inflammation From Sunburns

One of the main causes of pain that we experience from sunburn is inflammation. Of course, it is best to avoid this altogether if possible. However, there are some scenarios where you might not be able to avoid the burns, and this may be treatable with cannabis tinctures including CBD. Studies prove that cannabinoids can decrease inflammation.

What Scientific Evidence Doesn’t Yet Tell Us About CBD Cosmetics

A lot of what we do know about CBD and its role in skincare is very, very encouraging. However, CBD has only recently been allowed to be used in the way we see it, such as within skincare, as it has been a regulated cannabis product that we have not been able to buy over the counter.

For that reason, there are still some relative unknowns. For example, there hasn’t been a lot of data on the amount of CBD oil to take and the perfect dosage of CBD both topically and taken orally, for different types of conditions.

Though many studies have been encouraging, we could certainly do with more information about exactly what CBD is good for, and you should never go against the advice of medical professionals. The good news is that CBD does not pose any risk, so applying it to your skin or taking it orally is completely safe, as proven by a number of different studies. More information will continue to trickle into the market as time goes on.

Much has been discussed about the use of the cannabis plant in the most diverse spheres. If this happened in the beauty industry, as we have seen, of course in fashion, it would be no different. Check out our article on hemp fabric!
