Inside the Paris Business Mission
In March 2023, twelve entrepreneurs from various backgrounds and expertise, including sustainable fashion, technology, and social impact, came together to discover the fashion industry’s latest trends, innovations, and ideas in Paris.
The group visited companies and brands to learn more about their operations, sustainability practices, and future plans. The group could hear right from the founders and C-levels about the story of these businesses, strategies and other exclusive information. The visits included:
Le BHV Marais
We had the pleasure of visiting Le BHV Marais: one of Paris’ most famous department stores.
La Maison des Startups LVMH @ Station F
La Maison des Startups LVMH is an accelerator program launched by the French luxury goods conglomerate LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton SE in 2018.
Heuritech
Heuritech is a French artificial intelligence (AI) company founded in 2013 by two PhDs in Machine Learning. The company aims to provide brands and retailers with data-driven insights to improve their decision-making processes.
The Woolmark Company
The Woolmark Company is the global authority on Merino wool — a 100% biodegradable and renewable textile. The group had the opportunity to see the innovative products up close, in addition to understanding the step-by-step treatment and production of the textile.
Arianee
At La Caserne — Europe’s largest sustainable fashion accelerator hub, Arianee offers end-to-end web3 solutions for brands. Arianee is a blockchain-based company that was founded in 2017. Their mission is to create a new standard for digital ownership using blockchain technology.
Jonak
Jonak is a French shoe brand that was founded in 1964 by Joseph Nakam. Our past speaker Marcel Nakam, the Co-CEO, warmly welcomed the group at the brand’s office.
Istituto Marangoni Paris
Istituto Marangoni Paris is a prestigious fashion school located in Paris, France. It was established in 1935 by Giulio Marangoni, an Italian fashion designer. On the visiting day, the group was able to learn from a workshop the details of the Metaverse and FashionTech.
Chatelles
Chatelles Paris is a French brand that specializes in designing and creating luxury slippers for women. The brand was founded in 2012 by François du Chastel, a young entrepreneur who was inspired to create a line of stylish and comfortable slippers after noticing a gap in the market.
Pigalle by Stéphane Ashpool
Pigalle is a French streetwear brand created by Stéphane Ashpool. The designer had been doing fashion week shows for almost twelve years. Stéphane is the Artistic Director and Senior Designer w/ Le Coq Sportif to dress the athletes of the French teams for the Summer Olympics and Paralympics in Paris in 2024.
Claudie Pierlot
Claudie Pierlot is a French fashion brand founded in 1984 by the designer Claudie Pierlot herself. The designs are known for their clean lines, playful details, and Parisian chic style. The brand’s signature pieces include blouses, dresses, and tailored jackets with feminine details like bows, ruffles, and lace.
Veja
Veja is a French footwear brand founded in 2005 by François-Ghislain Morillion and Sébastien Kopp. The brand mainly focuses on creating sustainable, eco-friendly footwear using ethical practices.
The group also had a special lunch with journalist and author Dana Thomas and a positive leadership workshop with author and Founder of Retailu April Sabral.
