Changing the Industry for Better
If progress means moving forward, fashion is the word that comes right after it. New ideas that are not only innovative but also technological, have gained space to show that this industry, in need of a revolution, has already begun the process. In this conversation, Lewis Perkins (President, Apparel Impact Institute), spoke with Tonne Goodman (Former Fashion Director & Sustainability Editor, VOGUE). Together they analyzed how the pandemic accelerated these changes and brought a future filled with sustainability and new ideas.
Tonne Goodman, having studied art, joined Diana Vreeland at the Costume Institute of the MET Costume Institute. From there she went to The New York Times. She was appointed VP of advertising for Calvin Klein in 1988 and joined Anna Wintour at Vogue in 1999.
Lewis Perkins is the President of the Apparel Impact Institute (AII), an organization launched by leading brands and apparel sector industry associations to identify, fund, and scale programs to drive positive impact in the fashion sector.
