Truth must be revealed. After the pandemic hit, working from home became a reality for an even more significant number of ladies worldwide. 

What before was an option, in 2020, it became mandatory. And, while some have already come back to offices. Others face home office as their new routine.

Indeed, working from home can be possible multiple times, but it also has difficulties. 

However, even without getting ready for a daily office routine, it’s important to feel beautiful and comfortable. After all, you’re working but from your own home.

In the last two years, reality has changed. Several people have turned their home into an office, which has become a permanent reality for many. Companies closed their offices and the home office model became a fact.

However, as much as leaving the house to work is no longer necessary, it is essential to adopt certain habits to keep your self-esteem aside. In other words, there are some attitudes and activities that one can do to help them keep their self-esteem high even without leaving their household.

Self-esteem is the image and opinion, positive or negative, that each one has and makes of him or herself.

It is built from personal experiences, emotions, beliefs, behaviors, self-image, and others’ image of us.

In addition, self-esteem is defined from past experiences, influences current behaviors and determines one’s future.

For psychoanalysts, self-esteem relates to the development of the ego, a “self-esteem,” as Freud already said.

Why Is It important?

A woman’s self-esteem is essential for her well-being and quality of life. Keeping it always high, decisions are more accurate and mastery of the reins of life becomes easier. 

It’s a daily activity to keep self-esteem high and there are several tips that one can take to chase it. 

We will give you some tips to keep your self-esteem high, especially while working from home. But, first, let’s understand self-esteem pillars.

Pillars of self-esteem

In psychotherapy approaches, there are four well-defined pillars of self-esteem. Self-acceptance and self-confidence are representations of the intrapersonal dimension. While social competence and social network, the interpersonal dimension.

Self-acceptance

Self-acceptance is having a positive attitude towards yourself. In other words, it means being satisfied with yourself, in agreement and “at home” with who you are and with your body.

Self-confidence

In self-confidence, when you have a positive attitude towards your abilities and your performance.

It’s having the conviction that you know how to do it, how to achieve it and how to overcome possible adversity.

Social skills & network

In social skills, the ability to live social experiences with balance, knowing how to live with easy or more complicated relationships.

This process includes empathy, the ability to make contacts, the regulation between distance and proximity with others, and emotional reactions.

Working From Home: 4 tips to keep up with self-esteem

While surfing through TikTok videos, it’s not hard to find content from people who doesn’t dress up anymore because they don’t need to go to the office.

Research proves that those who work from home deal with greater activities and hours of dedication. It may even be that you don’t have the same energy to get ready every day – and that’s normal. 

However, feeling confident and well with yourself can improve work performance. So here are 4 tips that you should add to your routine.

1. Waking Up Earlier 

That may sound cliche, but waking up earlier improves your self-esteem and, therefore, work performance. Now that home office workers don’t have to deal with traffic, some choose to sleep more and wake up right before the shift start. 

However, having a couple of hours before starting to work gives you time to have a good breakfast, write in your journal, meditate, spend time with your loved ones, and do some physical exercises. And that leads us to our second tip. 

2. Do Daily Exercises

Even if it’s not in the morning, adding physical exercise to your routine will change your life. When we exercise, our body releases endorphins. So, believe it or not, when we practice physical activity, we have more energy for other activities.

3. Take a Shower

There’s nothing better than having a fresh shower before starting your working hours. This will help you to awaken but also refresh your thoughts and memories.
