The second edition of the Miami Talks is hosted by Fashinnovation in partnership with MANA Fashion Services: an event that gathered 350+ entrepreneurs and players from the fashion and tech ecosystems.
Fashinnovation assembled the 2nd Miami Talks in partnership with MANA Fashion Services and with the support of Miami DDA, an event focused on connecting fashion entrepreneurs and innovation, focusing on the importance of sustainability.
It took place on July 10th at MANA’s headquarters in Downtown Miami, hosted talks by industry leaders, and held an exhibition of tech & fashion brands, ending the day with a cocktail networking reception.
Miami Talks: how it went
The event started with a Blue Carpet, where guests could take photos and exchange thoughts about the Miami Talks before entering the main area.
Between cocktails and a little shopping with the invited brands, players from the fashion industry were able to network and meet newcomers who are just starting and create connexions that will contribute to a more sustainable and innovative fashion industry.
Among the confirmed speakers were Fernando Garcia – Co-Creative Director of Oscar de la Renta as well as Founder of Monse, Founder of E! Television – Larry Namer, Co-founder & President of WASTEWEAR – Uddhav Bagrodia, Costume Designers of “And Just Like That” – Molly Rogers and Danny Santiago, Cristina Mantilla – Founder of Eliou, Oliver Gilbert III, Chairman of Miami-Dade County and others!
The space was filed with stands from amazing brands like Monarchessa, a sustainable jewelry brand that sells unique one-of-a-kind pieces, and Zhuzh, an accessory brand focused on highlighting work from African artisans.
The gathering also welcomed Okimmi, Tamtamyogi, No Name Just People, Stavros, La Roja by Misha, Modern Natured, Andrea Venturoli, La Nadia Jewels, Judith Cabrera, Wastewear, Sitka Semsch, and Smart SwimSuits, all of which are sustainable fashion startups trying to right the wrongs in the industry.
The Miami Talks are built to be a bridge that connects the global fashion and innovation environments with the local ecosystem in order to elevate businesses while bringing innovative ideas to a place where creativity is bubbling.
“We were thrilled to see new collaborations, friendships and ideas be formed throughout the day at Fashinnovation Miami Talks, as that’s why we continue to do what we do.
Since we stepped into Miami last year, we felt embraced by strategic partners such as Mana Fashion Services, Miami DDA, Miami Dade County’s mayor’s office and other key players.
We’re excited to flourish these collaborations and ensure that Miami is the next go to globally when it comes to tech and fashion,” shares Jordana & Marcelo Guimarães, founders of Fashinnovation.
In the future, Fashinnovation hopes to keep its connexion with Miami and come back for more successful events. In the next few months, exciting projects are being built all around the world.
On September 6th, Fashinnovation takes its place in New York City at Lectra’s Headquarters for the 9th edition of the Worldwide Talks. Among the confirmed speakers are Kenneth Cole and Martha Luna, with much more to come!
